Now that Raven has built the Ammo trucks, http://gfmod.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=929
We need to figure out how to best use them in-game.
My suggestion would be to have fighting vehicles only reload at the Main Bases or at Supply Trucks. They would not reload at static ammo boxes at the CPs
We should reduce the number of ammo boxes in our maps, and have them only reload small arms.

I agree with you, i think that only main bases should have ammo boxes, the only exception being the map Bunker complex, there should be only one flag that spawns ammo ( ammo dump ) . _________________

I had this in mind for the general ammo setup:
-In main bases ground vehicles could reload at the repair building (and get repairs). I just think when you are in you main base you should be able to get reloads at all times. It should not matter if your ammo trucks are destroyed or not.
-Helicopters should be able to reload at their helipads.
-Aircraft should be able to reload INSIDE their hanger. This would force aircraft to land and taxi inside their hanger!
I created kind 3 ammo resupply stations one for ground vehicles one for aircraft and one for helicopters.
For outside the main base:
-No more ammo boxes for vehicles in any map. So no more reloading at a CP point.
-All ground vehicles and helicopters should be able to reload at their nations ammo trucks.
-In some cases ammo trucks can be spawned by capable CP's, this will depend on the map size and layout.
Small arms
-Ammo boxes could be located at CP's depending on the map and CP. They should also be able to get reloads in vehicles that have APC capability's. Humvee, Bradley, Stryker but not in a M1A1(for example)!
Reload speeds:
Vehicle's should wait some time before completely reloaded. I am not talking about minutes but currently some vehicles are reloaded almost in stand!

Well thought-out, and nicely explained Raven. That system is just about perfect. I don't know if the jets should need to actually enter a hangar (simply because of the layout f some mainbases would make it tricky), but a designated reload area would be cool.

how about, make the stationary ammo boxes PCO's (we would have to keep them away from vehicle spawns) and when a player gets in it, they can hold left click or something to create a temporary ammo projectile kind of like a medikit so the ammo boxes run out of ammo to give.
In a long game, they would eventually run out of ammo and make the need for ammo trucks. _________________ snipers ftw

how about spawning an ammo "pickup kit" which will work like medic or repair kit (only resupplies allys) and a limited ammo supply _________________

basically a handweapon with an ammo refill projectile and a numbercount projectile _________________ snipers ftw
